The latest move by Classified has caused massive uproar from the Classified marketing community. It all started when Classified required Phone Verified Classified Accounts to post in the most heavily trafficked erotic services section. Many people did not realize that this was just the first step Classified was going to take. In a nutshell, to post in any of the services section you must first verify your account via phone. All that is required is that you use a valid phone number so as to receive a pin verification code. After you have confirmed your phone verification you can now post in any section on Classified that required phone verification. After the introduction of phone verification, there have been some obvious changes. Phone verified accounts permit you to only post one ad every 48 hours in sections that require phone verification. The upside to this is that many spammers on Classified have either stopped posting or had to scale down how often they post. Just how far Craiglsist is prepared to go to stop unwanted spammers on Classified is unknown. Overall, the introduction of Phone Verified Classified Accounts has definitely changed Classified forever.
