A MAC address is a unique identifier or ID that is assigned to network devices. This means that the method you use to connect to the internet with, cable, DSL, dialup, wireless etc, has its own MAC address. This is much like your computers IP, however, unlike an IP which can be changed easily a MAC address doesn’t or very rarely changes. Depending on who you ask, some believe that it is possible for Classified to detect the MAC address of your computer while you are on their site. If you believe this to be true, then the obvious question is can you change your MAC address?

MAC addresses as assigned to your network card or network device. To change them you have two possible solutions. The first is to change your network device. You could plug in a new network adapter or use a different modem to connect to the internet. A much easier solution is to use software which can spoof your MAC address. Any PVA they consider to be possibly used for spamming will be unverified and you will no longer be able to post in the Services or any other section that requires phone verification. If you bought your PVA from someone else, you don’t have the phone number, so there is no way to reverify it. You’ve basically wasted your money.

If buying PVA from others isn’t so hot, then what can you? Make your own verified accounts using phone numbers you purchase from suppliers. Buying phone numbers makes it possible for you to re-verify the PVA if it gets deactivated again in the future and it also means you can control the quality of your accounts. There are some suppliers selling PVA that aren’t aware of the best way to create accounts to avoid them being placed on hold.

The best Classified PVA or phone verified accounts are ones you make yourself. Buy phone numbers that you can then use to verify your own accounts. This way you’ll create the best quality PVA for Classified and won’t have to worry about them being placed on hold due to third rate PVA suppliers who don’t know how to make quality phone verified accounts.

For sometime Classified has been trying to stop people over using or abusing Classified. The introduction of phone verified accounts was believed to put an end to this, but it hasn’t. They’ve continued to fight spam and on occasion disable and block certain phone number ranges. This has failed and their latest trick was to simply make everyone who recently verified their accounts to re-verify. How do you know if this affects you? Your old number isn’t dead, so there should be no problem using it again to re-verify your account. You can also use another number. If for whatever reason you have lost your old number, just use a new one to re-verify your account.

Using Classified phone verified accounts is only getting harder. Make sure that you know how to best use your PVA and avoid the common pitfalls and traps many people fall into.

Perhaps the most important thing to keep in mind when posting on Classified is that you need to be able to change IPs as much as possible. If you are just the casual poster and do one or two posts a week then there won’t be a problem. For those who post more than this, you should definitely look into some kind of setup that allows you to change IP. Classified offers two kinds of accounts. Standard and phone verified. If you are posting with standard/non-verified accounts you should do at most 10 posts per day per IP. For phone verified accounts you should only do 1 post per day per IP. If you go beyond this it increases the chances of Classified putting your accounts on hold. This is the number one reason people find their accounts on hold. The second cause for accounts being placed on hold is people post ads in the incorrect sections in Classified. Doing this increases the chances that people will flag your ads as spam. The more times your account post ads that are flagged as spam, the higher the chance your account will be put on hold. Try to post ads in the relevant sections in Classified and avoid having ads flagged. This is the second main cause of accounts being put on hold.
